Pickle Club: Fermentation and the wild alchemy of living foods

Join community growers Meryn and Jane to learn about the magic and medicine of fermentation and explore how this lost art is finding a new place in our food culture. It’s a great way to prepare your microbiome for the festive season ahead!

Over the course of the evening, we will deep dive into the glorious world of gut health, living foods and microbial magic. We’ll learn by doing - making a big community sauerkraut from valley-grown veg, start a ginger bug, taste kefir, kombucha and apple cider vinegar.

We’ll also share a bowl of warming soup and sourdough as we create a collective fermentation journal of recipes, science and stories to share with the wider community. Everyone will take away a portion of sauerkraut and a starter - we hope you’ll leave with the skills and inspiration you need to start fermenting at home and with friends and family too!
