Join us for a special celebration
If you have helped out at 10 Trees, you’re warmly invited to join the garden team on Saturday 14th February 10am-12noon for complimentary coffee and cake at Open House’s Open Day.
Are you one of the many people have already helped 10 Trees flourish over the last year? You might work for a local business that has donated essentials like wood chip and logs, or a conservation charity that has helped with infrastructure like raised beds, or be part of a community group that has offered allyship through skills shares. As an individual, you might be one of the talented people who have brought their passion into the garden (from composting to drumming) - or one of the many cherished people who have given up time in their daily lives to help tend the garden and bring it to life. A big thank you goes to you all!
It’s thanks to you that 10 Trees can step bravely into its first full year in community - and we are so looking forward to gathering and growing with you this year.
As we set out on this adventure, our sister social enterprise, Open House, is already celebrating its two-year anniversary. This familial relationship, held by Dark Peak Soul, has been a precious and nourishing lodestone for 10 Trees. So, we’re joining in the celebrations - and inviting you to be part of it, too.
Open House’s two-year anniversary celebration, Open Day, takes place on Saturday 14th February. Amongst the music, yoga and delicious food on offer that day, the 10 Trees team would like to invite everyone who has helped in the garden over the last year to join us at our Open Table for a complimentary coffee and cake as a thank you. It’s also a chance to meet some other garden folk, and find out what's going on in the garden this year.
And if you’ve not yet stepped into the garden at 10 Trees, you’re also welcome! We'll be making willow hearts - and everyone is welcome to join in and make a token for someone you love.
There’s still plenty of time to get involved in the garden - this month we are renovating the forest garden, and building raised beds for the community to use, and next month we’ll be diving into an exciting re-design of the herbaceous beds.
How are 10 Trees and Open House connected?
10 Trees a community garden created in and for community. It’s part of Dark Peak Soul's emerging constellation of gathering and growing spaces across the Hope Valley, and shares with Open House in Hathersage the ethos of offering space for the local community to gather, to nourish themselves and each other naturally, and to feel at home.
